Castellví is one of the founding members of the Ellevate Chapter of Puerto Rico, a member of the Executive Council and its treasurer since 2013. She has also held various positions in professional and non-profit organizations in Puerto Rico and the United States, such as Cupey Girls` Home, the Foundation for Río Piedras (FpRP), and has been a representative of the MSRB Uniform Practice Contact Group, among others. Manuel has been with Popular for over 30 years and has held leadership positions in marketing, sales, product management, consumer lending, insurance, investments, retail banking and corporate banking. She served as the firm`s general auditor and held senior positions in financial and operational risk management and brokerage activities as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Popular Securities LLC. Prior to joining Popular in 1996, Castellví was Head of Audit and Corporate Advisory at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He has worked with the Government of Puerto Rico and federal agencies to develop credit policies and incentives for subsidized and affordable housing programs in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Betina Castellví is Chief Security Officer and Executive Vice President and Head of Cybersecurity and Fraud Efforts at Popular Inc., where she has worked in operations for over 20 years. Manuel is Executive Vice President of Popular Inc., a large financial institution with $65.9 billion in assets and operations in Puerto Rico, the continental United States and the Virgin Islands. Based in New York, he is Chief Operating Officer of Popular Bank, the banking subsidiary of Popular Inc. with $10.2 billion in mainland U.S. assets and offices in New York, New Jersey and South Florida. In this role, he oversees all of Popular`s operational and commercial activities on the continent.
For more than two decades, Manuel has been an active and official member of various marketing, credit, cash management, and nonprofit organizations and is currently a board member of the Hispanic Federation and Junior Achievement of New York. Manuel holds a bachelor`s degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Monzón is also a member of the Fannie Mae Advisory Council and the Affordable Housing Council. From 2004 to 2010, Mr. Monzón served on the Residential Board of Governors of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America. Monzón studied economics at Sacred Heart University and attended the School of Mortgage Banking of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America. He has also conducted studies in the areas of valuation, financial planning, real estate and consumer credit. He is currently Vice President of the Puerto Rico Mortgage Bankers Association and served as President from 2004 to 2006. He is chairman of the mortgage committee of the Puerto Rico chapter of the American Bankers Association and a member of the Council on Government Relations of the American Bankers Association in Washington DC. Prior to joining Banco Popular, Monzón was Senior Vice President of Metmor Financial and Executive Vice President of Puerto Rico Home Mortgage.
